CSV Import & Export - Your Data, Your Way

Migrating from another CRM or a messy spreadsheet should not take a whole afternoon. SalesSheet reads your CSV, auto-maps columns to the right fields, flags duplicates before they become a problem, and imports everything in seconds. When you need data out, export any filtered view or your entire database to a clean CSV with one click. Your data is never locked in.

CSV Import Wizard - Step 2 of 3: drag-and-drop field mapping with auto-detected suggestions, live contact and account preview cards

Import and Export Without the Headaches

Whether you are bringing in 50 contacts or 50,000, SalesSheet handles the heavy lifting so you can focus on selling.

🗂️

Smart Auto-Mapping

Drop your CSV file into SalesSheet and the auto-mapper instantly matches your columns to CRM fields - Contact Fields (Name, Email, Phone, Address, LinkedIn, Facebook), Account Fields (Account Name, Address, Primary Contact, Industry), and List Fields. "Full Name" maps to Name, "Email Address" maps to Email, "Phone #" maps to Phone - even when your headers do not match exactly. Auto-detected mappings appear with a "Suggested" badge. Click "Accept All Suggestions" to confirm them all at once, or drag and drop individual columns to fine-tune. A live preview card shows exactly how the first row will look as a contact and account record.

🔎

Duplicate Detection

Before a single record is created, SalesSheet scans your import against your existing database for duplicates. It matches on email address, phone number, and company-name combinations to catch records that already exist. You choose what happens - skip duplicates, merge new data into existing records, or create them anyway. No more cleaning up thousands of duplicate contacts after an import gone wrong.

📤

Flexible Export

Export exactly what you need, three ways. Select specific rows and click "Export selected (N)" to download just those contacts. Click "Export this page" for the current grid view. Or click "Export all contacts" to download your entire database - even tens of thousands of records. Exports include every visible grid column and download as clean CSV files instantly. Great for reporting, mail merges, or sharing data with partners.

How It Works

1

Upload and Configure

Drag your CSV file into the upload area or click to browse. SalesSheet reads the file instantly and displays the column count and row count. Name your new list where the data will be imported, choose whether the relationships are accounts (companies, departments) or contacts (leads, recruits), and optionally select a CRM source preset - HubSpot, Pipedrive, Copper, Salesforce, or generic CSV - for smarter auto-mapping.

2

Map Fields

SalesSheet auto-maps your CSV columns and shows them in a three-panel layout: CSV Fields on the left, Field Mapping slots in the center (Contact Fields, Account Fields, List Fields), and a live preview on the right. Drag unmapped columns from the CSV panel to any slot, or click "Accept All Suggestions" to confirm every auto-detected mapping at once. Required fields (Name and Email for contacts, Account Name for accounts) are clearly marked.

3

Review and Complete

The review screen summarizes your mappings and shows a data preview. Click "Complete Import" and SalesSheet creates your contacts, accounts, and list fields with a live progress indicator. A summary shows exactly how many contacts were created, how many were updated, and any errors. If multiple CSV rows map to the same account, you can choose to create separate entries or merge them into one.

"We migrated 12,000 contacts from HubSpot in under five minutes. The auto-mapping got every field right on the first try."
