Call notes in SalesSheet.ai let you capture important details from every phone conversation without leaving the dialer. You can type notes in real time while a call is in progress, edit or expand them after the call ends, and rely on AI-generated summaries to fill in anything you might have missed.
Every note you add is permanently attached to the call entry on the contact timeline, creating a searchable record that your entire team can reference. Combined with call recordings and AI transcriptions, call notes ensure that no critical information falls through the cracks between conversations.
Whether you prefer to take detailed notes yourself or let the AI handle the heavy lifting, SalesSheet.ai gives you the flexibility to capture call information in the way that works best for your workflow. Notes and AI summaries work together to create a comprehensive record of every customer interaction.

Open the Notes Tab During a Call
When you are on an active call using the SalesSheet dialer, the dialer panel on the right side of your screen includes a "Notes" tab. Click this tab to open the inline notes editor. The editor provides a clean text area where you can type freely while the conversation is happening. Your notes are auto-saved every few seconds, so you will not lose anything if the call drops unexpectedly.
The notes editor supports basic formatting including bold, italic, bullet points, and numbered lists. Use the small formatting toolbar above the text area, or use keyboard shortcuts such as Ctrl+B for bold and Ctrl+I for italic. You can also paste content from your clipboard directly into the editor.
Add Notes During the Call
As the conversation progresses, type key points, action items, objections, decisions, and any other details that are relevant to the relationship or deal. Many sales professionals find it helpful to use a simple structure: start with the purpose of the call, note any questions the contact raised, record commitments made by either party, and list next steps at the end.
You can also use the "@" symbol followed by a team member's name to tag a colleague in your notes. Tagged team members will receive a notification with a link to the call entry, which is useful for flagging items that require someone else's attention. For example, typing "@Sarah - please send updated pricing sheet" creates a visible callout in the notes.
Edit Notes After the Call
When the call ends and you reach the call summary screen, your notes from the call are displayed in an editable text area. This is your opportunity to clean up any shorthand, add details you did not have time to type during the conversation, and organize your notes before saving them to the contact record.
You can also edit notes at any point after the call has been logged. Navigate to the contact timeline, find the call entry, and click the pencil icon to open the notes editor. Changes are saved immediately and a small "edited" indicator appears on the call entry so your team knows the notes were updated after the original log. Previous versions of edited notes are preserved in the revision history, accessible from the three-dot menu on the call entry.
Use the AI Resumo Feature
If the call was recorded, you can generate an AI-powered summary by clicking the "Generate AI Resumo" button that appears on the call summary screen or on the call entry in the contact timeline. SalesSheet's AI will analyze the recording and produce a structured summary that includes a brief overview of the conversation, key topics discussed, action items identified, objections or concerns raised by the contact, and suggested next steps.
The AI summary appears in a dedicated section below your manual notes, clearly labeled as "AI-Generated Resumo" so your team can distinguish between your personal notes and the automated analysis. You can edit the AI summary to correct any inaccuracies or add context that the AI may have missed. The AI summary also extracts and highlights any dates, dollar amounts, or commitments mentioned during the call, making it easy to create follow-up tasks directly from the summary.
Create Tasks from Notas de Chamada
After reviewing your notes and the AI summary, you can convert action items into SalesSheet tasks without leaving the call entry. Hover over any line in your notes or the AI summary and click the checkbox icon that appears to the left. This creates a new task pre-populated with the text of that line, linked to both the contact and the call record. You can then assign the task to yourself or a team member, set a due date, and choose a priority level.
Tasks created from call notes include a backlink to the original call entry, so anyone working on the task can quickly reference the full conversation context. This workflow eliminates the need to manually copy information between your notes and your task management system.
Dica Pro
Enable "Auto-Generate Summaries" in Settings > Assistente de IA > Call Summaries to have the AI automatically generate a summary for every recorded call without requiring a manual click. Summaries will be ready within a few minutes after each call ends and will appear directly on the contact timeline alongside your manual notes.
Importante
AI-generated summaries are produced by machine learning models and should be reviewed for accuracy before being used to make business decisions. While the AI is highly reliable for capturing key topics, action items, and overall sentiment, it may occasionally misinterpret technical jargon, industry-specific acronyms, or names. Always verify critical details against the recording or your manual notes before sharing summaries with clients or using them as the basis for contract terms.

Solucao de Problemas
My notes disappeared after the call ended. Can I recover them?
Notes are auto-saved during the call, so they should persist even if the call drops unexpectedly. Check the contact timeline for the call entry, as notes may have been saved to the log even if the call summary screen did not display them. If you clicked "Discard" on the call summary screen instead of "Save and Close," the notes may have been removed. Check the call entry's revision history from the three-dot menu to see if a previous version exists. If the call was very short (under 5 seconds), it may not have been logged at all.
The AI Resumo button is not appearing on my call entries. Why?
The AI Resumo feature requires two things: the call must have a recording, and the Assistente de IA feature must be enabled in your account. Verify that call recording was active during the call by checking for the recording icon on the call entry. Then confirm that Assistente de IA is enabled in Settings > Assistente de IA > General. If both are active but the button still does not appear, the recording may still be processing. Wait a few minutes and refresh the page. AI Summaries are available on Pro and Enterprise plans only.
Can I add notes to a call that was made by another team member?
Yes, any team member with access to the contact record can add notes to any call entry on the timeline. Open the call entry and click the pencil icon to add your notes. Your additions will be attributed to your user account and timestamped, so it is clear who contributed which notes. This is useful for managers who want to add coaching feedback or for team members who participated in the call but did not make the original entry.
