SalesSheet.ai brings a familiar social-media-inspired commenting experience to your CRM. Every contact, deal, and company record includes a comment thread styled with avatar bubbles, speech-bubble message containers, and interactive elements like like buttons with count badges. This design makes team conversations feel natural and easy to follow, replacing traditional CRM notes with a modern chat-style interface.
The comment system is built for speed and simplicity. A pill-shaped input bar sits at the bottom of every comment thread, ready for you to type and post in seconds. Comments support @mentions to notify teammates, and each comment shows a timestamp, author avatar, and engagement indicators so your team can quickly see which updates are most relevant.
Before You Begin
- An active SalesSheet.ai account on any paid plan
- Access to at least one contact, deal, or company record
- For @mention functionality, at least one other team member in your workspace
Navigate to a Record's Comment Thread
Open any contact, deal, or company detail page. Scroll down to the Comments section, which appears below the activity timeline. If the record has existing comments, they are displayed in chronological order with the oldest at the top and newest at the bottom, similar to a messaging app.
Each comment appears inside a speech-bubble container with a subtle background color and rounded corners. The commenter's avatar bubble (either their profile photo or their initials in a colored circle) appears to the left of each message. Your own comments are aligned to the right side with a slightly different background color, making it easy to distinguish your messages from those of your teammates.
Post a Comment
At the bottom of the comment thread, you will find the pill-shaped input bar. This rounded, compact input field is always visible and does not require clicking an "Add Comment" button to expand. Simply click into the input, type your message, and press Enter or click the send button to post.
The input bar supports multi-line text. Press Shift+Enter to add a new line without submitting. You can also use @mentions by typing @ followed by a teammate's name to trigger the mention dropdown. Mentioned teammates receive an instant notification.
Like Comments and View Count Badges
Every comment has a like button (a small heart or thumbs-up icon) below the message text. Click it to like the comment. The icon fills in and a count badge appears next to it showing the total number of likes. Click the like button again to unlike.
Likes serve as a lightweight acknowledgment mechanism. Instead of posting "Got it" or "Thanks" as a reply, you can simply like the comment to show you have read and acknowledged it. Hover over the count badge to see a tooltip listing the names of everyone who liked the comment.
Edit and Delete Comments
Hover over any comment you authored to reveal the action menu (three dots icon). From this menu, you can Edit the comment text or Delete the comment entirely. Edited comments show a small "(edited)" label next to the timestamp so teammates know the content was modified after posting.
Admins can delete any comment on any record, regardless of who authored it. This is useful for removing outdated or sensitive information from the comment thread. Deleted comments cannot be recovered, so use this action carefully.
View Comment History on the Timeline
Comments also appear as entries on the record's activity timeline, interspersed with other events like calls, emails, and deal stage changes. This provides a unified chronological view of everything that has happened on a record. Click a comment entry in the timeline to scroll down to the full comment thread and see the complete context.
Pro Tip
Use comments as a handoff tool between team members. When reassigning a deal to a colleague, leave a comment summarizing the current status, next steps, and any important context. The new owner will see the comment immediately and can start working without needing a separate briefing meeting or email.
Troubleshooting
My comment is not appearing after I post it. Where did it go?
If your comment does not appear after pressing Enter, check your internet connection. Comments require an active connection to save to the server. If you were temporarily offline, the comment may have failed silently. Try refreshing the page and reposting. If the issue persists, check the browser console for errors and contact support.
I cannot see the comment section on a record. Is it hidden?
The comment section is located below the activity timeline on detail pages. If you do not see it, scroll further down the page. On some screen sizes, the comment section may be collapsed by default. Look for a "Comments" header with an expand arrow. If it is still missing, your admin may have disabled the comments feature for your role in Settings > Roles & Permissions.
The like count badge shows a number but I cannot see who liked the comment. How do I check?
Hover your cursor over the count badge for 1 to 2 seconds. A tooltip will appear listing the names of all users who liked the comment. On mobile devices, tap and hold the badge to see the same list. If the tooltip does not appear, try refreshing the page or using a different browser.
