Connecting Slack to SalesSheet.ai brings your CRM data directly into the communication tool your team already uses every day. With this integration, you can receive real-time deal updates, get notified when leads take action, and even query your CRM using natural language - all without leaving Slack.
The Slack integration uses OAuth 2.0 for secure authorization and can be configured at both the workspace and individual user level. Workspace admins control which channels the bot can access, while individual users can personalize their notification preferences.
Antes de Comenzar
- An active SalesSheet.ai account on a Pro or Enterprise plan
- Admin or owner permissions in your Slack workspace to install apps
- Organization admin rights in SalesSheet.ai to enable integrations
- A dedicated Slack channel for CRM notifications (recommended but not required)
Open the Integrations Settings
From your SalesSheet.ai dashboard, click on the Settings gear icon in the top-right corner. In the left sidebar, navigate to "Integrations" to see all available third-party connections. You will find the Slack integration card near the top of the page with a recognizable Slack logo.
Click the "Connect" button on the Slack card to begin the authorization flow. If the button shows "Manage" instead, your workspace has already been connected and you can skip ahead to Step 3 to configure your personal preferences.
Authorize Slack Access
You will be redirected to Slack's OAuth authorization page. Sign in to your Slack workspace if prompted, then review the permissions SalesSheet.ai is requesting. These permissions include sending messages to channels, reading channel membership, and responding to slash commands and mentions.
Select the workspace you want to connect from the dropdown at the top-right of the authorization screen if you belong to multiple Slack workspaces. Click "Allow" to grant SalesSheet.ai access. You will be redirected back to SalesSheet.ai with a confirmation message indicating the connection was successful.
Choose Notification Channels
After authorization, you will be taken to the Slack configuration panel within SalesSheet.ai. Here you can select which Slack channels should receive CRM notifications. Common setups include a #sales-alerts channel for deal updates, a #new-leads channel for inbound lead notifications, and direct messages for personal task reminders.
You can map different event types to different channels. For example, route deal-won celebrations to a public #wins channel while sending overdue task reminders as private direct messages. Use the channel picker dropdown to search for and select your desired channels.
Configure Notification Preferences
Fine-tune exactly which events trigger Slack notifications. SalesSheet.ai supports notifications for new leads created, deals moving between pipeline stages, tasks assigned or due, emails opened by contacts, meetings scheduled, and weekly performance summaries.
Toggle each notification type on or off and assign it to a specific channel or direct message. You can also set thresholds - for example, only notify about deals worth more than $10,000 or leads with a score above 80. These filters help reduce noise and ensure your team only sees the most relevant updates.
Test the Connection
Click the "Send Test Notification" button at the bottom of the configuration panel. SalesSheet.ai will send a sample message to each of your configured channels. Verify that the messages appear correctly in Slack with proper formatting and action buttons.
If the test messages arrive successfully, click "Save Configuration" to finalize your setup. The integration is now live and will begin sending notifications based on your configured preferences. You can return to this settings page at any time to adjust channels, events, or thresholds.
Consejo Pro
Once Slack is connected, your team can interact with SalesSheet.ai using the AI bot directly in Slack. Mention @SalesSheet in any channel to query contacts, create new leads, or check deal status using natural language. This is one of the most popular features among sales teams - check out the AI Slack Tools article for a complete guide.
Important Note
Only workspace admins can install the Slack app and configure workspace-level channel mappings. Individual team members can customize their personal notification preferences, but cannot change which channels receive organization-wide notifications. If you need to modify the workspace connection, contact your SalesSheet.ai organization admin.
Slack Enterprise Grid customers should note that the SalesSheet.ai app must be approved at the organization level before it can be installed in individual workspaces. Your Slack org admin can approve the app from the Org Admin Dashboard under Apps > Manage Apps.
What to Expect After Connecting
Once Slack is connected and configured, your team will benefit from seamless CRM-to-Slack communication:
- Real-time deal alerts: Get instant Slack messages when deals move stages, are won, or need attention.
- Lead notifications: Be the first to know when new leads enter your pipeline with automatic Slack alerts.
- AI-powered queries: Ask the SalesSheet bot questions about your CRM data in natural language directly from Slack.
- Task reminders: Receive personalized direct messages when tasks are due or overdue.
- Weekly digests: Start each week with a summary of pipeline health, upcoming meetings, and priority tasks.
- Quick actions: Use interactive buttons in Slack messages to update deal stages, snooze reminders, or open records in SalesSheet.
Solución de Problemas
Ensure you have admin permissions in your Slack workspace. Some organizations restrict app installations to workspace owners only. Check with your IT administrator to confirm that third-party app installations are allowed in your Slack workspace settings. Clear your browser cache and try again, or use an incognito window to rule out cookie conflicts.
Verify that the SalesSheet bot has been invited to the target channels. In Slack, go to the channel and type /invite @SalesSheet to add the bot. Also check that your notification preferences in SalesSheet.ai have the correct events enabled and mapped to the right channels. Use the "Send Test Notification" button to confirm the connection is working.
This can happen if your Slack workspace admin revokes the app's permissions or if Slack's OAuth token expires. Go to Settings > Integrations in SalesSheet.ai and click "Reconnect" on the Slack card. If the issue persists, remove the SalesSheet app from your Slack workspace entirely (Slack Settings > Manage Apps) and then re-install it from SalesSheet.ai.
