Contact enrichment is one of SalesSheet.ai's most powerful features. When you add a contact with minimal information, our AI automatically searches public sources to find and fill in missing details like job titles, LinkedIn profiles, company information, and location data.
How Contact Enrichment Works
Enrichment happens automatically in the background whenever you create a new contact or when existing data becomes outdated.
The enrichment process:
- When you add a contact, SalesSheet immediately queues it for enrichment
- Our AI searches multiple public data sources using the contact's name, email, and company
- Relevant information is extracted and validated
- The contact record is updated with the newly discovered data
- You'll see the contact card refresh with the enriched information
The entire process typically takes 30-60 seconds, though it can be faster or slower depending on how much public information is available about the person.

Viewing Enriched Data
Enriched information appears throughout the contact record with clear indicators of where data came from.
How to view enrichment:
- Open any contact by clicking their name
- Enriched fields are marked with a small icon indicating they were auto-filled
- Hover over the enrichment icon to see when the data was last updated
- Click "View Enrichment Details" to see the full enrichment history and sources
Enrichment status indicators:
- Green checkmark: Data was successfully enriched
- Yellow clock: Enrichment is in progress
- Gray dash: No public data found for this field
- Blue refresh: Data is outdated and will be re-enriched soon
Manual Re-Enrichment
Sometimes you need to refresh contact data to capture job changes, promotions, or other updates.
When to re-enrich:
- The contact recently changed jobs
- You know information has changed but the system hasn't updated yet
- Initial enrichment didn't find all available data
- It's been more than 6 months since the last enrichment
How to manually re-enrich:
- Open the contact detail page
- Click the three-dot menu in the top right
- Select "Re-enrich Contact"
- The AI will perform a fresh search for updated information
- You'll receive a notification when re-enrichment completes
You can re-enrich individual contacts or select multiple contacts from the list view and choose "Re-enrich Selected" from the bulk actions menu.
Enrichment Accuracy and Data Sources
Understanding how enrichment works helps you trust and verify the data.
Data sources:
- LinkedIn public profiles
- Company websites and directories
- Professional networking platforms
- Public business registries
- News articles and press releases
Accuracy measures:
- Our AI cross-references multiple sources to validate information
- Each enriched field includes a confidence score (viewable in enrichment details)
- Data is only added when confidence exceeds 85%
- You can always manually override enriched data if you have better information
What if enrichment is wrong?
- Simply edit the field manually - your changes always take precedence
- Click the feedback icon next to the enriched field to report inaccurate data
- The system learns from corrections to improve future enrichment
Consejo Pro
To maximize enrichment success, always include an email address when adding contacts. Email is the strongest identifier for matching people to their online profiles. Work emails (like name@company.com) are especially valuable because they provide both identity and company context. If you only have a personal email, try to include the company name as well.
Qué Esperar
After enrichment completes, you should see:
- Contact cards filling in with new details within 30-60 seconds
- A notification showing how many fields were enriched
- LinkedIn profiles, job titles, and company information appearing automatically
- Company records being created or linked based on enriched company data
- Enrichment indicators showing which fields were auto-filled vs manually entered
- For contacts with limited online presence, fewer enriched fields (this is normal)
Solución de Problemas
Why didn't my contact get enriched at all?
Enrichment requires at least a name plus one of: email address, company name, or phone number. If the person has a very common name (like "John Smith") and limited online presence, the AI may not find enough data to confidently enrich the record. Try adding more identifying information like a middle initial, company name, or city, then manually re-enrich. Also check that the email address is spelled correctly - a typo will prevent matching.
The enriched job title is outdated. How do I fix this?
People change jobs frequently, and public data may lag behind. Simply click "Edit" on the contact and update the job title manually. Your manual entry will override the enriched data and won't be replaced during future enrichment cycles. If you want the system to search for updated information, click "Re-enrich Contact" after 24 hours - the AI will look for fresh data including recent job changes.
Some enriched fields are wrong or belong to a different person. What happened?
This typically happens with very common names when there's not enough unique information to distinguish between people. For example, multiple people named "Michael Johnson" working in sales. Correct the fields manually, then provide more distinguishing information (middle initial, specific company, city) and re-enrich. You can also report the incorrect match using the feedback icon, which helps our AI learn to avoid similar mistakes.
How often does enrichment data get refreshed automatically?
SalesSheet automatically re-enriches contacts every 6 months to catch job changes and other updates. You'll also be prompted to re-enrich if you interact with a contact whose data is more than 90 days old. For high-value contacts you actively work with, we recommend manually re-enriching every 3 months to ensure you have the latest information.
