Access Your Usage Dashboard
The usage dashboard gives you a comprehensive view of your AI consumption:
- Go to Settings > AI > Usage Dashboard
- Alternatively, click the AI usage indicator in the top-right corner of the main app
The dashboard displays several key metrics:
- Current Month Usage: Total AI requests and tokens consumed this billing cycle
- Plan Allowance: Your plan's included AI usage limit
- Remaining Quota: How much AI usage you have left this month
- Usage Trend: Graph showing daily usage over the past 30 days
- Projected Usage: Estimated usage by end of month based on current patterns
For BYOK users, the dashboard also shows estimated costs based on your API provider's pricing.
Understanding Token Consumption
AI usage is measured in tokens. Tokens are chunks of text - roughly 4 characters or 0.75 words. Both your input (what you ask) and the AI's output (what it responds) consume tokens.
Example token counts:
- Simple query: "Show me contacts at Acme Corp" = ~10 tokens
- AI response with 5 contacts = ~200 tokens
- Email draft request = ~50 tokens
- AI-drafted email = ~300-500 tokens
- Long email thread summary = ~1000-2000 tokens

View Usage by Plan Tier
Different SalesSheet.ai plans include different AI usage allowances:
Free Plan:
- 1,000 AI requests per month
- Approximately 100,000 tokens
- Suitable for light usage, trying out features
Pro Plan:
- 10,000 AI requests per month
- Approximately 1,000,000 tokens
- Suitable for active individual users
Team Plan:
- 50,000 AI requests per month (shared across team)
- Approximately 5,000,000 tokens
- Suitable for small-to-medium teams
Enterprise Plan:
- Unlimited AI requests
- Or use BYOK for direct cost control
Your current usage is displayed as a percentage of your plan allowance. If you exceed your limit, you'll be prompted to upgrade or add BYOK.
Track Costs for BYOK Users
If you're using Bring Your Own Key, the usage dashboard shows estimated costs based on your API provider's pricing:
- Real-time cost tracking: See estimated costs updated every 5 minutes
- Cost by model: Breakdown of spending by AI model (GPT-4, Claude Sonnet, etc.)

Optimize Your Usage
If you're approaching your plan limits or want to reduce BYOK costs, try these optimization strategies:
Reduce unnecessary queries:
- Use search and filters instead of asking the AI for simple data lookups
- Batch similar requests instead of making multiple separate queries
Enable smart routing:
- Settings > AI > Model Preferences > Smart Routing
- This uses cheaper, faster models for simple tasks automatically
Configure auto-summarization settings:
- Disable auto-summarization for short email threads (under 5 messages)
- Adjust summary frequency in Settings > AI > Email Summaries
Review team usage (Team/Enterprise plans):
- See which team members are using the most AI

You have three options: 1) Upgrade to a higher plan in Settings > Billing, 2) Add BYOK to get unlimited usage (Settings > AI > BYOK Configuration), or 3) Wait until your monthly quota resets on your billing date.
